Members of Parliament have recommended overhauling the BBC's funding model. They propose reducing expenses and extending funding to cover areas outside of television. MPs also recommend scrapping the BBC's charter process and stopping the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to resolve the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a key turning point. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's future direction.
