The Conservative Party has introduced plans to do away with the £100,000 threshold for free childcare. Kemi Badenoch, the party's chief secretary, has referred to the current rule as 'absurd' and has stated that the move focuses on eliminating the 'cliff edge' where individuals with substantial wealth face great economic stress. The proposal has been extensively covered by major UK news outlets, for instance the BBC, The Guardian, and Financial Times.
