Ed Harris complained initially about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was pointless and wanted to leave. Harris told Variety, 'bluntly Get me the f- out of here' as he walked away. He later decided to return for Season 2 to return for Season 2. The show’s boss reworked the plot and gave his character new responsibilities. That change made Harris choose to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the role.
