Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, criticised Labour’s internal culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza did not pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his statement at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a freezer, I don't care at all."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
