A seven-year-old boy was left on Mount Fuji after his father and brother pushed ahead.
The child stayed alone on a slope while the rest of the family carried on climbing.
Emergency search teams started looking early on a Saturday after the group went missing.
Rescuers spotted the boy a short distance from the top, and he was transported to a hospital.
The incident took place on August 22, 2026.
Although the family had arranged the trip together, the father continued with the brother.
The search was launched after the father and brother did not arrive.
Medical staff are currently assessing the boy to ensure he remains in good health.
