The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl match after 75 years. The league is pulling the plug on the on-field contest, but top athletes will continue to be recognized. Players will continue to be named as Pro Bowlers to receive their yearly recognition.
Player honors will stay in place despite the elimination of the match. However, alternate players will no longer be selected by the league. The move ends the 75 year history of the annual game, but leading stars will still receive their official Pro Bowl honors each year.
