Red Lobster has decided to close 163 of its restaurants. The chain has operated for 58 years. This is part of a bigger wave of closures hitting the industry right now.

A few locations are already confirmed. The Palm Desert, California location learned about it on a Monday. The Springfield outlet is also closing. The company hasn't put out the complete list yet, and they haven't said when all the shutdowns will wrap up. The closures became public on 30 August 2026. Customers across the country are affected.
