A 22-year-old passenger died on Loop 1604 in San Antonio after a driver believed to have been drunk behind the wheel struck a pillar. San Antonio police arrived at the North Side collision and found the driver impaired when officers arrived.

In a separate incident, an employee at a BBQ restaurant was stabbed in the arm and chest in what police characterized as a random attack outside the restaurant. The employee is expected to recover after the attack.
