The Rugby Football Union plans to hand England head coach Steve Borthwick an extended contract. The planned agreement would retain him as head coach beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and past the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would remain in charge of England at each tournament under the planned deal. His tenure as head coach would continue after the next men's Rugby World Cup, before continuing through England's Six Nations campaign the following year.
The extension would leave him in charge after the 2028 tournament had concluded.
