Two WNBA playoff semifinals are on the schedule Friday, Oct. 9, with both series reaching Game 3. The New York Liberty take on the Dream at home, though Atlanta takes the floor shorthanded as guard Allisha Gray is ruled out with an injury. The Liberty hold the series advantage and play at home.

In the other semifinal, the Golden State Valkyries face the Las Vegas Aces. Golden State picked up a road win in Game 2 and now sits one win from a Finals berth. The Valkyries relied on contributions up and down the lineup to beat the Aces in Game 2, creating a pivotal Friday matchup on Friday.
