An Australian Federal Police detective in Canberra was handed a prison sentence after lying about trial evidence.
The long-serving investigator spent decades sending criminals in prison. He committed what judges called a fatal career falsehood and a tragic misjudgment when he lied about court evidence.
Today the Canberra detective faces time behind bars with the offenders he previously investigated. The Australian Federal Police officer was sentenced to prison after spending decades building cases against offenders and putting them behind bars before his own conviction for lying in court.
